American History Grant
The Education Service Center Region 2, has received almost $1 million dollars in grant funding to improve the teaching of American History. The $998,216 will help fund professional development for Region 2 teachers.
The three year program will include the Education Service Center, Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi, and the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History. The partners will provide about 60 teachers with hands-on training that will focus on three areas:
- Colonial Period
- Constitutional Era
- Civil War
In addition to content, the grant will focus on active teaching strategies for the history classroom.
